Accudata Systems Sponsors Water Polo Olympian Genai KerrHOUSTON, TX, JULY 11, 2007 -- Today Accudata Systems announced that it is proudly sponsoring Olympian Genai Kerr who plays goalkeeper for the 2008 U.S. Water Polo team. Genai and the U.S. team are competing to be one of only 12 international teams that will advance to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. Their immediate challenge, according to Genai, is that "we must win the gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio De Janiero in order to receive an automatic bid to the 2008 Olympics." The men's water polo competition at the Pan American Games begins on July 21, 2007 and the finals occur on July 26, 2007.

Genai remembers the 9/11 tragedy six years later Genai plays goalkeeper for both the U.S. Olympic team and his Long Beach Shore, California club team where his 6' 8” height, competitive nature, and overall athleticism have brought him and the United States many honors and accolades. Olympic history is repeating itself because Genai also played goalkeeper for the U.S. Olympic team at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece that achieved a 7th place finish. He was born on December 25, 1976 in Los Angeles and began playing water polo his senior year at Coronado High School in Coronado, California. He attended the University of California at Irving where he earned collegiate All-American honors in 1998 and 1999, led the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in saves in 1998, and was named the Big West Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Year during his senior year in 2000 when he also earned Bachelor's degrees in both Education and Studio Arts. He started training with the U.S. National team in 1998 and made his first start at the 2001 World Championship Qualification Tournament in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where his team achieved a 1st place victory.
Genai's many international team competition highlights include 9th place at the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia; 1st place at the 2006 ASUA Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; 7th place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens; 1st place and a gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo (where he logged two saves and helped secure the United States' place in the 2004 Athens Olympics); 7th place at the 2002 FINA World Cup in Belgrade, Yugoslavia; and 1st place at the 2001 World Championships Qualifier in Santo Domingo. Genai currently resides in Huntington Beach, California where he continues his preparations for the Rio 2007 Pan American Games and ultimately the 2008 Olympics. He is also an accomplished artist and has sold paintings and exhibited photographs in galleries and coffee shops. About Accudata
