Accudata Systems Announces Nokia Intellisync Call Connect for CiscoHOUSTON, TX, SEPTEMBER 19, 2007 -- Today Accudata Systems announced availability of the Nokia Intellisync Call Connect for Cisco solution to provide its clients with more robust wireless and handheld Unified Communications capabilities. Nokia Intellisync Call Connect fully integrates Nokia's Eseries mobile phones into a corporation's Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure and enables the use of a Nokia mobile phone as a “primary” business phone, thereby eliminating the need for and expense of desktop phones . According to Michael Prater, Unified Communications Technology Lead for Accudata Systems, “Nokia Intellisync Call Connect for Cisco strengthens Accudata Systems' ability to address the myriad of challenges that IT managers face while trying to coordinate overlapping fixed and mobile voice infrastructures. It helps IT managers manage the multiple devices, multiple phone numbers, and multiple voice services utilized by end users. It also provides access to value added business telephony features that are normally only available on high-end desk phones such as VoIP calls over WLAN, automatic phone registration, one business number (single number reach), call transfer, hold, resume, park, pick-up and short number dialing. Nokia Intellisync Call Connect for Cisco provides businesses that utilize the Cisco Unified Communications system a solution that delivers measurable productivity enhancements. ” Nokia Intellisync Call Connect for Cisco is an installable S60 application that uses wireless local area network (WLAN) and the Cisco Skinny Client Control Protocol ( SCCP) to integrate Nokia Eseries mobile phones with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express. This architecture allows a Nokia mobile phone to appear as a regular phone extension on the Communications Manager, which can then route all mobile calls made within WLAN coverage (i.e., calls made to your mobile phone while you are in the office) directly to your mobile phone without using your wireless minutes. If a user decides to leave the WLAN coverage area at the office while talking on their mobile phone, Communications Manager recognizes this transition and then automatically switches the Nokia ESeries mobile phone to the wireless provider. Also, Accudata Systems has added the Nokia E61 (optimized for mobile e-mail) and E61i (e-mail plus multimedia) smartphones to the stable of S60-based devices and handhelds that it is able to offer customers along with Nokia's server-based phone solution.
